Reformulating Ceramics Biennales in East Asia and Beyond: The Taiwan Ceramics Biennale (TCB)

Friday, 10 July 2015 at 3:00 pm

Panellists: Wendy Gers, Shuling Chiang, Jane Milosch, Jia-Haur Liang and Elizabeth Perrill

The TCB is one of the most innovative and respected biennales in the world. As the only international ceramics biennale that recruits specialist curators via an international curatorial competition, the TCB is leading the field in terms of best Museological practices. Via the TCB, the Yingge Ceramics Museum seeks to engage with both new forms of critical discourse and creative curatorial strategies; and ultimately, the ‘economics’ of ceramics. This panel brings together diverse international professionals associated with the conception and implementation of the 2014 TCB, and considers best-practices for future international ceramics biennales.
